So I know anna already knows this but I thought I'd let you guys know. my bike got stolen a few days ago. I was uber depressed that whole afternoon. I thought my beloved bike would be gone forever.

see, my bike had been stolen at school. I had forgotten to lock it up to the rack and had left my chord around the neck under the handlebars, which was extremely idiotic of me, I know, and I will never do it again. after school I went to get it and it was simply gone, no where to be seen. but then, my stupidity was trumped by the magnificent hand of god. or perhaps by some other worldly being, or maybe luck. probably pure luck.

pure luck, see, that my bike had just happened to be stolen by the bravest, most idiotic individual I have ever known. for, the next day I mosied on over to the bike rack just for kicks and to wallow in my pain.

and what did I see, chained with a different lock but never the less very much there? why, lo and behold, it was my beloved bikey-poo. it had come back to me. apparently the bloke who had stolen it the day before HAD RIDDEN IT BACK TO SCHOOL.

so I got the security guard, and to prove it was mine I unlocked the lock around the neck under the handlebars. then I put it through the wheel so the thief couldn't make a quick getaway.

after school we waited for the thief to see if they would come back, but they didn't. I'm guessing they got scared off. so mr. security guard cut the thief's chord and gave it to me as a souvenir, and I got my sweet ride back.

today was the first day I rode my bike to school again. when I went to go unlock it afterwards, the thief had left a little present for me in my helmet- a lovely paper boat with the remains of pizza in it. guess old thiefy was feeling a little vengeful.

but it doesn't matter. I got my darling bike back. I am elated.
